
Suzanne Pleshette (January 31, 1937 from 1937 to January 19 2007) was an American film, theatre TV, and voice actress. [1] Pleshette started her career in theatre and then began to appear in films in the late 1950s. Later, she appeared in prominent films like Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963), and Spirited Away (2001). From 1972 to 1978, Pleshette would appear regularly on a variety of TV productions. She also was the character Emily Hartley, which earned her several Emmy Award nominations. Pleshette was born on January 31 1937 in the New York City neighborhood of Brooklyn Heights, to Geraldine (nee Kaplan)[1] and Eugene Pleshette. Her parents were Jewish immigrants from Russia and Austria-Hungary. Her mother was a dancer, artist and choreographer, who was stage-named Geraldine Rivers. Her father was the stage manager at the Paramount Theater, Manhattan, as well as the Paramount Theater, Brooklyn.
